About Dr Fulkerson
Was highly recommended to Dr. Fulkerson by Vascular surgeon in ER at Stanford Pleasanton after serious scooter accident that destroyed my right knee, femur bone on 7-7-23. After 8 months, 6 surgeries, he was able to reconstruct my knee along with external fixation. Developed infection March 2024. Dr. Fulkerson recommended knee replacement. Was referred to Dr. Kronick, hip, knee revision specialist. I am extremely thankful for Dr. Fulkerson and his staff for assisting me with my injury and referring me to Dr. Kronick’s staff assisting me with my knee revision. Surgery for knee revision is scheduled in about 6 weeks. Highly recommend Dr. Fulkerson as I was extremely fortunate, blessed that he saved my leg from amputation!
Prompt and effective and provided me with an appropriate referral. Strongly recommend!
The staff is very friendly and helpful..Dr listens to my concerns.I would recommend this place .
I would say the best service I have ever experienced! All the staff is very friendly. Dr Erick w Fulkerson. Very knowledgeable answer every question I had very patient and friendly. Highly recommended..
Excellent doctor, very professional
I am extremely grateful to have had Dr. Fulkerson as my surgeon, the surgery that he preformed has healed very well with minimal discomfort. Even the incision is skillfully healing into visual oblivion thanks to his talents.
Dr. Folkson, his assistant,Gale Fenner Have been absolutely wonderful and providing first right quadricep tenant repair and treatment. I will recommend their services to everyone. I know that may have an orthopedic injury or rehab. Thank you very much for Golden State orthopedics kindness concerned for my well-being and helping me to gain strength so I can continue my work in the future. Respectfully. Michael Hamilton
Very good Dr, friendly and helpful.
I want to leave this review today, exactly 6 months after Dr. Fulkerson and his team at Golden State Orthopedics did surgery to repair my ruptured left quadriceps tendon. I am very happy to say that this morning I successfully rode my bicycle [pedal power only] with friends up Northgate Blvd to the Junction Ranger Station on Mt. Diablo. Our group has been riding Mt. Diablo for many years and it was wonderful to be able to join in again. My knee is mechanically sound, great lateral stability, getting stronger and pain free. Next week's goal is for Juniper Overlook and then to the top. Recovery over the last 6 months has been long and hard. As a 71-year-old, I don’t bounce as gracefully as I once did. I give many ‘Thanks’ also to Gail Fenner, PA and Nichole, Eric and Kayla of the physical therapist’s staff at GSO in Concord for guiding me the whole way. I would not be here today without them. Thanks again to everyone. Now I just need a recommendation for a knee brace for the upcoming ski season. Sincerely, Cliff McAuliffe
Made me feel at ease and took the time to answer my questions.
Golden State Orthopedic runs very smoothly from the check in process, x-ray, MD, billing. Only issue I have was that their physical therapy department in Brentwood, was not able to see me due to staffing issues. I recommend them to anyone in need of their services.
Dr. Fulkerson is not only kind and professional but he shows compassion and empathy towards the patient’s needs and pain without being condescending. He speaks plainly. His staff, especially Eloisa, is professional are extremely knowledgeable and responsive. He is without question, a wonderful Orthopaedic specialist and highly qualified and very knowledgeable. I recommend him.
Dr. Fulkerson is an awesome Ortho Doc, and you won't be disappointed with his care! Also, you will be very satisfied by how proficient and professional his staff is! I highly recommend this Ortho and PT facility.
Great Doctor, great service!
10 years ago Dr. Fulkerson fixed my shattered broken tibia. Eventually I set away my cane. Ten years later I broke the same leg. Needless to say I knew who to call. We’re in the process of fixing it again.
Dr. Fulkerson was very attentive and explained all of the details of my injury and the healing process
He is a great doctor! I like his energy. He also has a good bedside manner. I would recommend him anytime you need an orthopedic surgeon.
Dr Fulkerson is very personable and knowledgeable. He has helped me w/my tennis elbow.
Dr. Fulkerson performed the surgery on my leg and ankle following a fall. He did a great job and continues to listen carefully to my challenges with it. He is easy to talk with. Thanks Doctor and staff.
I have a lot of respect for my orthopedist, Dr Fulkerson,. I appreciate him very much for saving my R femur and hip. Had a nasty fall in my bathroom floor 4 yrs ago and shattered my femur and hip. Had internal bleeding and Dr Fulkerson was the trauma physician on duty who did the surgery right away and inserted a Titanium Rod . I had pain occasionally in the injured area but he gave me steroid shots for that.. I find him to be nice and kind with reassuring demeanor. Thank you Dr Fulkerson. You are a gift to our community. Thank you for being my orthopedist .
I am an RN in Orthopedic surgical post-op and have heard great things of Dr. Fulkerson. Now going through the first hand experience of Open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) surgery, with rodding of the tibia- I can without a doubt say Dr. Fulkerson is an amazing surgeon. This was my first time having surgery. With Dr. Fulkerson he took his time to address the process in a calm and professional manner. My leg is now stronger than ever. If you need trauma related surgery- GO TO DR. FULKERSON. Thank you Dr. Fulkerson, Gayle Fenner, and the Golden State Orthopedic Team.
I had a complicated arm break, combined with a low level bone infection and Dr Fulkerson worked through the complications and placed hardware that solved the issues.
Dr. Fulkerson and staff were personable and knowledgeable and took the time to respond to questions during each of several appointments. Highly recommended!
doctor are very caring and highly skilled professionals!
I was in the ER at John Muir Hospital when I met Dr. Fulkerson. I had suffered a spiral fracture of my left tibia and fibula. My daughter was also getting married in 45 days when this happened. Dr. Fulkerson put me at ease and assured me I would walk my daughter down the aisle on her big day. Everything he assured me that would happen happened. I walked her down the aisle as promised. I can’t say enough about Dr. Fulkerson and his surgical skills and bedside manner.
Dr. Eric W. Fulkerson is amazing i had a really bad car accident in march of 2018. Broke my right leg in 3 places. Dr. Eric W. Fulkerson is god sent i do not know where i would be without him thank you so much
I’m so grateful with Dr. Eric Fulkerson, he fixed my ankle after fracturing it really bad in a car accident (Pilon fracture) He did two surgeries, 2 months after the second surgery I started walking. I’m so so grateful he fixed my foot, I will always be grateful for helping me. Thanks Dr. Fulkerson you’re my hero.🙏
I absolutely love Dr Eric Fulkerson he has been there for me over the last 5yrs guiding me through some very rough times regarding the health of my well being, addressing my issues with care and confidence. He LISTENS to me anytime I asked for help. He’ll remedy the problem proficiently he is also was willing to refer me in the right direction when I needed a surgery he did not perform. HE IS my “GO TO GUY” !! Whenever I have a new orthopedic issue which happened recently (I’m back to being under his care) no matter how long the in between time is he’s still there for me with his warm smile, kindness and professional opinion he acts upon. In my mind there’s not an ortho problem he can’t fix or refer you in the right direction I would greatly refer Dr Fulkerson at Muir Orthopedics to anyone with orthopedic problems, he does not disappoint under any circumstances so if you’re in an ortho discomfort state please have your primary care doctor write a referral for you to go see “HIM” it’s the best decision you can make...love you doc and thank you so much for everything you do !!! Sincerely...Pauline Lozano Rudy
I had a bad car accident about three years ago. I had a lot of broken bones and one of them was my pelvis. I remember them saying I wouldn’t walk again and if I did it will take a while. Well, I had surgery on my pelvis by Dr. Fulkerson and my recovery was excellent. I couldn’t walk for three months after the surgery, but once he removed the bars that were sticking out of my pelvis I was able to start my physical therapy. When the bars were removed it was very painful because I wasn’t on any medication, but I asked to not be put under. Within a month or so I was walking. Today I am walking and even sometimes running lol. I want to thank Dr. Fulkerson, the rest of the doctors, and the nurses that worked on me. I’m truly thankful and blessed.
Dr Fulkerson & Gayle Fenner were fantastic!! They spent lots of time with my daughter and were very kind. I interacted mostly with Gayle and she was so wonderful!!! Responded to emails quickly, was very kind during visits & thorough. Had very good advice. I felt in good hands! I would definitely see them again!! Thanks for taking good care of my daughter!!
I’m walking proof of the expertise and professionalism of Dr Fulkerson and his crew.
Dr. Fulkerson listened carefully to my concerns and gave his honest opinion about my hip and the age of a possible break now healed. I had fallen and he was asked to give a second opinion. He was extremely polite and caring, which I appreciated very much.
I can't Dr Fulkerson enough for his time, care and treatment. I had a very bad shoulder injury and Dr Fulkerson and his team took amazing care of me during and post Op. I cannot say enough good things about his team. Always smiling, attentive and answering all questions we had. I have seen the wrong kind of doctor before i could trust Dr Dr Fulkerson and I can't be more thankful to him. I know I am in good hands with his team.
I had written a tip prior but now that my daughter's legal matter regarding her car accident has settled, I wanted to write a longer review. My daughter, at 17 years of age, was hit head on by another driver who entered her lane. It took almost an hour for emergency personnel to extricate her from the car. She suffered a compound fracture of her leg. She was transported to John Muir Hospital and luckily Dr Fulkerson was on duty as the orthopedic trauma surgeon that evening. She was taken to the operating room where the bone was cleaned and stabilized. She later returned to the operating room the day after for hardware to be placed to hold the bone in place so it could heal. I want to emphasize that while she entered the operating room with a bone that was covered in road dirt, she exited the operating room with actually no infection. Because of Dr Fulkerson's skill, she now leads a normal life. I know it is frustrating to wait for a doctor to come into the exam room, not give you the lengthy detailed explanations you seek..but if you are under Dr Fulkerson's care on the worst day of your life (after suffering an orthopedic trauma )....be glad that he is on duty!
Thank you to all my friends at Muir Ortho. Dr. Fulkerson did a great job fixing my shoulder. Physical Therapists (Rhonda, Robinson, Mario, Armando, etc.) all did a great job helping me with the rehab. Everyone in Physical Therapy is really friendly (Therapists, interns, and the ladies at the front desk). And a special thank you to my friend Dr. Lewis.
One of the best physicians I ahve ever had, terrible to have to meet him after a truamatic event but fortunate nonetheless. Very compassionate, caring. He came in to follow up afer surgery in the middle of the night. I had left the flatscreen TV on and rather than turn the light on and wake me up, he examined me there and as I woke up he apologized for disturbing me. Really a great physician. Miss him terribly now that I have moved away.
Great service.

I was referred to Dr Fulkerson by a friend, I am recouping now but all in all felt he and Gayle were great to deal with. Just hope I don’t have to see them again!:)
