DR JOHN KRONICK

I was referred to Dr Kronick by a retired orthopedic surgeon for my knee replacement surgery because he is the best knee surgeon in the Bay Area.

I'm an active 78 yr old who was referred to Dr KRONICK for right knee replacement surgery recently. He did a thorough assessment and was receptive to my needs. I was lucky enough to get scheduled quickly and am writing this just shy of three weeks post op. This was my second replacement (having had my left knee replacements in 2021). I was treated extremely well throughout my whole hospitalization and in the OR the attention given was superb throughout from nursing, anaesthesia to the operation itself as well as post op. Dr KRONICK did an amazing job of replacing my knee and correcting a severe deviation. I got excellent post op care in the hospital and Dr KRONICK visited and thoroughly explained what he had done. I am amazed by the mobility I have already and can walk well and have increased flexibility far beyond my expectations. I am thrilled with the outcome and my progress and have high hopes of resuming a busy active lifestyle. This whole experience has been quite remarkable and I am so glad I bit the bullet and stopped procrastinating. As a retired health professional I feel I have the experience to honestly critique my surgical experience! I couldn't say enough about Dr KRONICK's skill and professionalism as well as his dedication and kindness. I want to thank him and all the staff for their care and support.

Dr Kronick listened and asked questions, and manipulated my knees. We talked about my options. I had a big concern about general anesthesia during surgery. Turns out that I can have the surgery without general. Dr Kronick interacted with me as an equal, which I so appreciated. I’m 72 and have been to many drs! He wins a medal.

Dr. Kronick recently did a hip revision for me. I couldn't be happier with the results. I was in the hospital for 3 days, including a weekend. Dr. Kronick came to see me each day. He is compassionate, has a dry sense of humor, and is very skilled.

Dr. Kronick, has given me a new lease on life! 9 knee surgeries, and finally an orthopedic surgeon that diagnosed my knee pain in one initial visit. Dr. Kronick at John Muir Hospital fixed my knee replacement gone bad. I developed an infection and sepsis after a routine replacement by another surgeon. I spent 2 weeks in the hospital, then needed an interim spacer for 7 months, and then saw Dr. Kronick for a revision knee replacement. After being unable to walk unassisted for 6 months, I'm now walking normally only 3 weeks after Dr. Kronick's surgery. He's been really involved for the entire time pre- and post-op, very sweet and attentive, explains everything. Dr. Kronick is a very calm and knowledgeable physician. I’ll start off with the office personnel are always great to me. The medical staff is always great to me. Also the physical therapist are really great to me as well and Dr Kronic you’re the best I appreciate you for all the surgeries you’ve done to me and they came out at 100% the last surgery which was November 6, 2023. From pre-op to post-op. Dr Kronick was the best. He educated me from the beginning on what my surgery and recovery was going to be like. The surgery was extremely easy and I was home the same day. Dr Kronic is an assume Ortopedic Surgeon. He has fellowships and other extensive training specializing in knee and hip surgery. Meaning he is an expert in his field. He is also the guy you what to see if you need a revision. I have gone to Dr. Kronic for both knees and hip replacements with great results. He's a very caring person and listens to all your needs. He takes the time to go over everything. Pain management is great after surgery. The Golden State outpatient rehab group is great. I highly recommend Dr. Kronic for all your joint issues.

I am writing this letter of thanks and recommendation for Doctor John M. Kronick, because through his professional knowledge and skills as a surgeon, he has made my life and my daily physical living conditions enjoyable again. I have worked hard and been a very outdoor active person my whole life and it took it's toll on my knees. Doctor Kronick has replaced both my knees in the past three years and because of his professional skills I can now move and run without any pain, sleep through the night without waking up saying ouch and I can now chase my grandchildren. Dr Kronick was prompt in seeing me though I was a new patient, and very quick to give meaningful help to a very painful leg issue. The office followed up quickly with a further appointment to address findings on xray. Staff was gracious and helpful. This is a well managed and experienced office that provides expeditious care and follow through.

Dr Kronick is an excellent surgeon that has helped me with joint replacements in both my hips and my right knee. Each surgery has been a success and everything that was explained took place and was achieved. Dr Kronick is very through using surgery as a last fix for your problem. Dr. Kronick saved my leg! After a fracture, my leg became infected. Dr. Kronick cleaned it up and put in a spacer in place of the artificial knee that had been there. With the help of antibiotics, I survived that interruption. But then I had an extensor lag that I could not overcome. Dr. Kronick did a transplantation procedure that seems to have done the trick -- we're still awaiting final results, but all seems well.

Since 2020, I have been a patient of this doctor whom I contacted based on many recommendations from previous patients. My surgery for a revision of a total hip replacement completed in 2006 had to be postponed due to an osteoporosis diagnosis. After a one-year course of treatment with Prolia, x-rays showed that the procedure could go forward. The revision, completed in February 2021, was complicated due to both the prosthesis and the surrounding bone having disintegrated. In addition, Dr. Kronick succeded in making both my legs the same length. Recovery has been slow but steady, and Dr. Kronick has proven to be not only an excellent surgeon, but also a caring physician who answered all of my questions carefully and in detail. His PA, David Brand, is topnotch as well. The clinic is well organized, clean, staffed with very courteous and caring people, and it is very easy to book follow-up appointments.

Dr Kronick is a miracle worker. Prior to my surgery, my knee was bowed & deformed causing severe pain. 6 months since surgery, my leg is straight & practically pain free.

Excellent TKR for my 20 degree valgus right knee. Could not be happier 4MO later, can do many things now unable to perform previously. From the surgery itself to Muir Hospital to the rehab clinic; all top notch. I doubt Dr. Kronick needs any more business but none the less if you need such care by all means you should investigate.

Had a >20 degree valgus knee, not good. Thought maybe 6 months after surgery if all went well I could maybe resume strenuous activities. Less then 3 months I was back to all bike rides and hikes with a brand new knee. Tx Dr. to you AND the Team.

Dr. Kronick is a very caring Dr. and skilled surgeon. His staff at the office are a joy, friendly and professional. Really appreciate Dr. Kronick assistant, David Brand. The surgical team and Nursing staff at John Muir was awesome as well. The whole experience of having a total hip replacement can cause anxiety, but when the experience from start to finish is orchestrated in the manor of which this entire team did, melts the anxiety to confidence and allowed me to place my life in their hands knowing that the outcome would be outstanding. My knee replacement could not have gone any better!!!

My first meeting with Dr. Kronick was not completely positive. He told me I was too high risk. I asked why and he told me because I have asthma and sleep apnea. After thinking on it for a week I knew in my mind it was because of my weight. I wish he had been more forthright about that because I was obese. Any way I decided to lose weight. The only things doctors offered my was bariatric surgery which I knew was not a total solution so did it on my own. I went from 325 to 206, it took my 4 years and after years oh suffering I am finally getting my knee replacement. Since meeting with him again after this weight lose I have been happy with his treatment and consideration.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kronick for many years. He has helped me with a difficult surgery and helped me avoid surgery. He is still helping me. He is knowledgeable and has patience with my questions. He treats me with respect.

I had chronic knee pain and a damaged knee that severely restricted many of my activities. Dr. Kronick was not quick to recommend surgery, but after it was clear that the knee damage was severe , I had a total knee replacement. Once that was decided, everyone in the office from the schedulers to Dr. Kronick showed compassion and helped prepare me for the process. The hospital stay went very smoothly, the physical therapist, Joyce Richardson was excellent and the follow ups meetings with Dr. Kronick and his PA, David Brand was right on target. He is one of the leading “fix it” surgeons for infected hip replacements among the general population. He is really knowledgeable and explains the two stage hip replacement procedure well to patients. He and his strong team provided me with awesome care and guidance over the past 11 months. From excruciating pain and barely able to walk with an infected left hip prosthesis in March 2020 to nearly back to normal leg functionality (including yoga and exercises at the gym) today, it has been a challenging but rewarding journey with him. I recommend him very, very highly. Pretty much a “miracle” worker...

Dr. Kronic is a very informed physician. He did a full, right hip replacement and it was very successful. He is now addressing my left knee. He listens to your concerns, and tells you what you need to do for yourself, in order to make your issue/surgery successful. I highly recommend Dr. Kronic.

I have been seeing Dr Kronick for 3 years now he has done my knee replacement and my knee revision he is good at what he do he is up front with you great guy all around. I had my right knee replaced on March22th. Went home on March 24th. Had no pain what so ever. My knee was really in bad shape and he had to do alot of work on it.I could walk on it right away and really NO PAIN!!!Graet Doctor!!!

He's a good knee doctor. Busy, so it takes a bit of time to get into him, but the wait is worth it.

I was made to feel important and therefore believed that the best care would be taken of me. It was. Dr John Kronick was my surgeon. I traveled from Pennsylvania to California just to have a top notch doctor operate on me in elective surgery for a hip revision. Now, back home in PA, I am bragging to everyone about this extraordinary doctor.

Great care. I could not be happier. Dr Kronick did a knee revision on me six weeks ago. Dr Kronick explained to me that the initial replcement was not the right size. After 2 weeks I was walking without the aid of either a walker or cane. I have been walking 2 miles a day for the past week, I can now ride a bike (something that I was not able to do after my initial knee replacement 6 1/2 years ago), and am already back to doing Zumba. I would recommend him to anyone. I chose Dr Kronick after talking to a friend that had both of his knees replaced at the same time, and was doing great when I saw him on the walking trail 2 months after his surgery.

My total hip replacement surgery was extra difficult due to it being a repair from a motorcycle crash that crushed my hip and broke my femur. For that reason I had a rod in my leg that had to be removed prior to hip replacement. 3 1/2 weeks out of surgery and walking fine! Pain is manageable with minimal drug relief necessary. My entire experience went without a hitch and everything Dr Kronick told me, happened as stated. Dr Kronick is the best there is based on my own experience as well as many patients I've talked with prior to picking Kronick.

I am 1 month after a second hip revision with Dr. Kronick. I am totally happy with Dr kronick and my results after a very complicated surgery. I had talked to several Orthopedic surgeons over the last several years be fore going ahead with the surgery and most had said they were not the one to take on my surgery. Dr Kronick showed no hesitation and, if no complications crop up, he was able to compensate for a 3 inch shortness which had occurred since my first revision. He showed the right mixture of confidence and concern and was always extremely professional.
