Third Annual “Pass To Play” Event Provides Sports Physicals to Students and Donates Funds to Their Schools
Community event promotes safe sports participation with economical physical exams performed by sports medicine specialists and orthopedists.
Orthopedic physicians who serve as team doctors for eight East Bay Area high schools will examine student athletes and issue medical clearances in the third annual Pass To Play event on July 25 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m at Golden State Orthopedics & Spine’ (GSOS’) Walnut Creek location at 2625 Shadelands Drive. GSOS sponsors the event, with all fees going back to the students’ school athletics programs.
Pass To Play: A Community Sports Physicals Event for Bay Area Youths helps make sports participation safe by offering students an economical sports physical examination performed by the orthopedists and sports medicine specialists at GSOS. Last year’s event drew student athletes from all over the East Bay Area who participate in a variety of sports. Athletes received sports physicals, medical advice and giveaways from select vendors, who are returning for this year’s Pass To Play.
“Golden State Orthopaedics Specialists is proud to be a leader in supporting our community’s sports programs,” said KC Campion, CEO at GSOS. “The Pass to Play event is a chance to bring the East Bay community area together and pass the fee for the physicals back to the schools.”
Medical information gathered during the Pass To Play examination will be forwarded to the student athletes’ primary care physicians.
GSOS offers Pass To Play in part because of their active involvement in local student athletics. Several GSOS physicians serve as doctors and medical advisors to Bay Area sports teams at the youth, high school, college and professional levels. Area high schools served by GSOS physicians include Bishop O’Dowd, California, De La Salle, Dougherty Valley, Heritage, Monte Vista, Northgate and San Ramon Valley. |
