ABOUT
Tayler Martinez
Tayler Martinez is a board-certified physician assistant working with Dr Mensch, Dr Kanel and Dr Cohen in sports medicine and pediatric orthopedic surgery with a special focus on the hand and wrist.
Tayler had worked previously with GSOS as a medical assistant. She has a deep passion for orthopedics and is excited to return to GSOS, and to this field of medicine. “I’ve always had a fascination with the human body and how it works, particularly involving sports,” she says. “I had the opportunity to work with PAs and doctors at GSOS as a medical assistant prior to PA school and loved the team dynamic. This ultimately guided my decision to become a PA to not only work in an area I have great interest in but also work with a team to best serve patient needs.”
Tayler is also passionate about patient education. “It’s very important to listen to my patients and involve them in the decisions surrounding their care plan to provide the best treatment and achieve the best health outcome. I find that the best recovery happens when my patients believe in their care plan and are committed to participating.
Tayler grew up playing basketball and played some in college as well. While she doesn’t play as much now she is an avid supporter of the Warriors. Additionally, she is a selfself-proclaimed bookworm who also loves crafting.
Tayler is an AHEC scholar, a program for health professions students interested in supplementing their education by gaining additional knowledge and experience in rural and/or underserved urban settings.
