ABOUT

Matthew Scroggy

Matthew Scroggy is a Nurse Practitioner, surgical first assistant, and a key member of Dr. Hany Elrashidy’s team specializing in orthopedic sports medicine and the treatment of shoulder, elbow and knee injury.  He also performs injection therapies and conservative management of non-operative interventions of minor musculoskeletal injuries.

“I believe in treating the entire person, not just the injury.” says Matthew.  “I enjoy taking the time to listen to, and get to know each patient, building a strong relationship.  By understanding each patient’s unique journey, I’m able create individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that focus on preventative care, education, and active patient involvement.”

Matthew has a strong background in human movement and sports science with a BS degree in Kinesiology.  He worked as a physical therapy aide for several years before returning to school to earn his Master of Science in Nursing from Samuel Merritt University.

“I have a strong belief in good physical therapy,” he says.  “I’m very passionate about helping my patients regain their strength, mobility and confidence,” he says.

Matthew’s passion for building meaningful relationships, combined with a strong interest in sports medicine and kinesiology led him to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner with an emphasis on sports medicine and orthopedics.

“I love that this field allows me to blend state of the art orthopedic care with genuine, personal connections that help people get back to doing what they love.”
