Physicians, coaches, trainers, professional groups and Dr. Mathew Pecci share 25 tips for achieving a safe and successful season.The tips include policies, a practice safety guide and injury treatment recommendations. Dr. Pecci, a sports medicine physician at Golden State Orthopedics & Spine, shares his advice on preventing damage to the bodies of youthful players.

He says contusions (bruises) account for 35% of all youth football injuries. Dr. Pecci, who often advises on preventing youth football injuries, suggests that proper padding and equipment should be used to reduced these bruises during both practice and games.
